From the Principal’s Desk
Life is but an endless series of experiments and in my three decades of teaching career, I did so many experiments and enriched my experience. At the same time, after completing two years as the Principal of this premier institution in the realm of Higher education, I am very much pleased to step into the third year. The Vernan Law says, “Experience is a hard teacher because she gives the test first, the lesson afterwords”. True to this, I also tasted a bit of it. But in-spite of this as John Locke said, “No man’s knowledge here can go beyond his experience”. I believe that, this is absolutely right and the same is echoed by Franklin P. Jones in his sayings, “Experience enables us to recognize a mistake when we make it again”. As the Principal and earlier as a teacher, I got a bag full of experience laced with sweet, though not in substance. But the everlasting support and encouragement I got from the College Governing Council, Teaching Faculty, Non-teaching staff, P.T.A., Alumni and from the students made me to feel relaxed.
The College which was founded way back in 1965, by the Vivekananda Vidyavardhaka Sangha, is marching forward and the one, who was the eye witness to the earlier campus, undoubtedly can notice the visible changes both in the quantitative and qualitative form. More number of students are admitted to the First Degree Courses and thereby taking the total strength to around 2700. To welcome and to give the basic information to the newly admitted students, P.T.A. has organized the Fresher’s Function on 17th June and to chalk out the programmes, the Annual General body meeting of the Alumni Association was organized on 25th June. At the same time, I am extremely happy and proud to share my joy with others for getting the status of “College with Potential for Excellence” (C.P.E.) from the U.G.C., New Delhi to our College in 2016. This is a very rare opportunity to the college like ours, which is in the rural area. The grant of C.P.E. status to our college itself is the proof for the quality education imparted in this Institution.
Then one more information, I want to share with all the senior students and well wishers of the college is about the NAAC Peer Team visit. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) Peer Team visit to our college is scheduled on 8th and 9th September, 2017.
Relying on the sayings of Jean Piaget we also believe, “The Principal goal of education is to create men who are capable of doing new things, not simply of repeating what other generations have done-men who are creative, inventive and discoverers”. We have the belief that, education has its object, the formation of character. In this Institution more importance is given for character building, more ethical and value based education. We know very well that, we are the creators of the destiny of the College and also future society. So we are sowing the good seeds to reap good fruits, in the form of good and responsible citizens of the country. We always believe that the faith in the Unity, Power and Strength of stake holders like you will enable the College to reach the goal.
To take the Institution to still higher heights, I solicit the support and co-operation of the PTA members, Alumni and the General Public.
With Best Wishes.
Dr. Peter Wilson Prabhakar
